π¨ Hello!
As summer comes to a slow close here in Ankara, I can feel myself entering a new season of creative growth. I started painting my Lupita portraits series again after several months (maybe a whole year?) without a new one. Iβve given myself the goal to learn how to do voiceovers on my Instagram videos. Iβm learning to do this with Canva and online tutorials. I enjoy it and am starting to get a feel for the timing and technology.
As we grow, so we have growing pains. By trying something new, we risk failure. By opening ourselves up to love and connection with others, we risk heartbreak. Still, I believe we are here to take these risks, to love and heal one another, as Ram Dass so elegantly said in his quote below. Sending love to you as summer closes and the possibilities of autumn open up.
Good journey,
~Emily Lupita
πΈ Books
A new video featuring my three Lupita Portraits Series Books. Iβm shy about being on camera, but I did it! Something new for meβ¦
π New Lupita Portrait
A new Lupita portrait emerged this week. Itβs been so long since one flowed out. The title of this one is, βProof of Life.β I got the idea after reading a book of selected poems by SΓΌleyman the Magnificent (1520-1566), Sultan of the Ottoman Empire. The poetry was translated into English by Talat S. Halman (BKG Publications).
π New Video
This is me reading the poems using my new voiceover skills. π Along with a short video of how I made the painting. It usually takes me about a week to create a painting, but this one only took two days. I may be getting quicker with the Procreate technology, or it may have just been inspiration pushing me forward. Either way, it was so fun to be immersed in a new Lupita portrait again. I missed her. πΈ
